WATERSHED PLANNING

In 2025, the New York Department of Environmental Conservation released the Boquet River Flooding and Resilience Report. This comprehensive analysis of our watershed, it’s flood risk and future rainfall modelling is a roadmap for future mitigation and adaptation strategies. The document outlines seven High Risk Areas and identifies strategies for reducing risks, lowering flood elevations and protecting critical infrastructure and emergency services. You can download the full report here: Boquet River Flood Mitigation and Resilience Report

You can also access additional inundation maps (beyond those found in the report) HERE.

Boquet River Watershed Management Plan (Part 1) 2014

Boquet River Watershed Management Plan (Part 2) 2016

The first Boquet River watershed plan was drawn up in 1984. BRASS released an updated plan in 2014-2016. Today, BRASS is guided by the principles of both plans, but recognizes that new priorities (as noted in the Resilience report above) and opportunities have arisen. Our organization’s Strategic Plan steers our activities in addressing restoration, flood risk, recreation and education throughout the watershed.
