Adirondack group turns to beavers for river restoration tips

The Boquet River Association is drawing lessons for restoring Adirondack rivers from the experts: beavers.

BRASS hopes by replicating the work of beavers, encouraging all of that woody material strewn about stream corridors, the organization can begin to restore the many small tributaries that proliferate the Adirondack Park.  

BRASS organized a field workshop in September to show off the restoration strategies, inviting experts from Vermont to share tips of the trade with representatives from Adirondack organizations and state agencies.  Read more…
